This post is part of my ongoing partnership with Nautica. All styling is my own!
Today, I head back into the workweek after a long holiday weekend. My wife and I had a wonderful opportunity to relax and unwind for the past few days. We saw some movies, went on a hike, and did some planning on our home (we’re the process of building!) The first day returning to work after a three day weekend isn’t an easy feat. The best way for me to transition from the weekend to the office is to dress comfortably.
I’ve mentioned this before, but dressing comfortably doesn’t have to mean sloppy. To me, comfortable style means curating an outfit that looks refined enough to wear out but cozy enough to stay home and watch a movie. To achieve this type of look, I always focus on fit, fabrics, and overall color palette. I’m also lucky enough to work in a very relaxed office environment dress code. Today, I’m wearing pieces from Nautica help keep me cozy yet still polished for my creative work atmosphere.
Since it’s moving into late spring, the weather is warming up. However, if you work in an office, you may know that it can be fairly chilly with the air conditioning blasting. I’ve opted to layer a grey heather long sleeve crewneck pullover over a short sleeve crewneck t-shirt to allow for options in case I’m feeling warm or cold. The crewneck is a classic weekend piece but also works seamlessly into the workweek. Made of comfortable cotton, it’s easy to layer over a t-shirt or a button down. The short sleeve tee is also made from soft cotton. It’s light enough to wear to the gym or refined enough to wear out on the town. I always keep my closet full of white t-shirts. I find myself wearing them non-stop over the warmer months.
These jeans are no stranger to my posts at this point. I’ve been wearing them often! Stretch denim with a modern fit—perfect for lounging around the house or sitting at a desk all day like me. The light wash pairs perfectly with lighter tones which makes the outfit feel light and bright even with a long sleeve crewneck. Unfortunately, sizing is a bit limited now, but they come highly recommended!
Sneakers are a must for this fit—classic yet trendy—comfy yet refined. All day, everyday for me.
Also from Nautica, I’m pairing the PRF Date Watch (with a replacement strap) and Voyage Heritage Cologne. If you’ve never tried a fragrance from Nautica then I would recommend starting here! For office settings, I only use one spray on my wrists and then transfer some to my neck. I don’t like to be over saturated—just a subtle hint of scent.
As always, I am proud to be a brand ambassador for Nautica—thanks for sponsoring this post and helping me ease into the workweek after a extra long weekend!
