Most of my wardrobe is very simple. I don’t gravitate toward crazy patterns or bright colors. I tend to stay neutral which allows for a lot of mixing and matching. This is how you get a lot of use out of your clothes. However, when it comes to swimsuits, I let down my boundaries. I’m not afraid to wear something with graphic prints and a bit more color. As we head into summer, I’ve styled one last complete outfit from MANGO to make the heat a bit more bearable.
Swimsuits should be fun. It’s summer, you’re on vacation—at the beach or pool—it’s okay to be a bit more expressive. Find something that speaks to you! This geometric-print pair from MANGO is just the perfect balance for me.
However, in order to pull off bright colors and funky patterns successfully, it’s crucial that they still maintain a proper fit. Gone are the days of swimsuits past your knees. Shorter suits aren’t just for dads anymore. I prefer a 6”-7” inseam or hitting around 2”-3” above my knee (slightly shorter than I wear my shorts). Keep them on the slim side, but not so slim that you can’t move freely and enjoy beach games.
I’ve paired the swim shorts with a lightweight, long-sleeve white linen shirt. Roll up the sleeves during the day when the heat is fierce and let them down at night. To complement the shirt, are white linen sneakers. They are perfect for the beach—don’t be afraid to get them dirty.
