It’s that time of the year to start thinking about refreshing some of your wardrobe staples for the upcoming fall season. Whenever the seasons change, I always take a good look through my closet to decide what’s worth holding on to and what needs to go. If you’re like me, then there is always room for a few new pieces—whether it’s replacing some of my everyday jeans or adding a slightly trendier style I’ve been eyeing for the season. Well, we’re both in luck because this July 20 through August 5 is the annual Nordstrom Anniversary Sale—their biggest sale of the year! What exactly is Nordstrom’s Anniversary sale? This isn’t your typical ‘end of season’ sale—it’s actually quite the opposite. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale kick-starts the season with thousands of marked down new arrivals. You never see sales this good at the start of the season. Usually, you have to wait until the season’s end, when styles and sizes are seriously picked through. I always end up missing out on all the gear I wanted!
Today, I’ve selected and styled a few of my favorite pieces from Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale. I’m excited to make them a permanent part of my wardrobe.
Nordstrom Men’s Shop Slim Fit Non-Iron Chinos, $59.90 marked down from $89.50 // These flat front chinos are a must have for your wardrobe. Made from 96% cotton and 4% spandex, they’re incredibly comfortable with modern slim fit (a tad on the skinny side). The leg opening tapers down to 7” across at the hem (size 32), which allows you to show off your clean white kicks. They are a bit more formal with their crease, but when styled with sneakers and a t-shirt the outfit is elevated from casual to effortlessly refined. You’ll definitely want to pick up a few more colors in these.
John Varvatos Slub Crewneck T-Shirt, $84.90 marked down from $128.00 // As a life long avid fan of the color blue, I can tell you that this shirt is something special. The Indigo Heather color is so deep and rich that I immediately fell in love with it. It also has a slim, modern fit. I sized up for a slightly relaxed vibe. The slubbed cotton is soft and comfortable. The thinner collar design adds a level of sophistication to the t-shirt that helps it pair perfectly with the trousers. If you’re serious about style, then having a wonderfully designed tee is a must for your collection.
7 For All Mankind Trucker Jacket, $179.90 marked down from $269.00 // This deal is insane! The jean jacket is an essential piece to have in your arsenal. This one has a beautifully soft faded indigo wash with a comfortable fit (true to size). It’s made with 2% spandex, which provides a bit of stretch so you don’t feel so restricted. Layer it over a t-shirt in the summer nights or over a sweater in the fall—it’s a style that’s proven the test of time.
Right now is the best time to save big on fashion. You no longer have to covet those new styles all season before they drop in price. Stock up on your fall wardrobe before the weather even drops in temperature! Prices go up on August 6, so I would urge you to start shopping.
