It’s the start of fall and I’m not quite ready to let go of the long summer days and warm weather. As much as I LOVE fall fashion, dressing for summer can be much simpler. It doesn’t get easier than throwing on a pair of jeans, t-shirt, and sneakers. Well, dressing for fall doesn’t have to be much more complex. As the weather starts to transition, it’s simple to start shifting into fall outfits by giving summer fashion a nod. I’ve created a look with several clutch pieces from Nautical to help ride the wave into the new season.
When it comes to fall knitwear, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with sticking with classic designs. In fact, I recommend it. Most of the time when I wear a sweater, I rely on textures and subtle color nuances to do the talking. But occasionally, when I’m in the mood for something a bit more playful, I’ll break out a striped pattern. The best thing about striped sweaters is that they never go out of style. I wore horizontally striped t-shirts all through summer, and this Navtech Breton Stripe Crewneck Sweater is the perfect piece to transition with. Throw it over a simple t-shirt and you’re ready to tackle the crisp morning autumn air.
To keep the summer vibes alive, I’m wearing light wash denim to contrast the dark navy jumper. Lighter colored denim acts as a wonderful way to brighten a look. I keep them in rotation all year around—breaking them out when I need a little pep in my step. The Tidewater Wash Jeans have great look with only very mild stressing, which is my preference. They’re soft with a bit of a stretch to help movement. The fit is straighter than your normal slim or skinny jean, but tailored enough for a proper fit. I’m slowly easing up on the tightness on a most of my jeans and trousers. While I still enjoy a pair of slim pants, I find a bit of extra room to be extremely comfortable and on trend for today’s look.
Moving toward fall fashion doesn’t have to be an intimidating or happen over night. Start slow, stick with the classics, and have fun experimenting with stripes!
