Today’s post is a paid partnership with The Very Warm. All selections and styling are my own!
I’m no stranger to coach jackets. They’ve been in my outerwear arsenal for several years now, and I don’t see them going anywhere any time soon. It’s a simple, classic design that adds a bit of sportiness to any outfit. It was originally made popular years ago—worn by many sport coaches across America. Now it’s made its way into the wardrobe of almost every fashion conscious guy to add a bit of minimalistic street style to their collection.
Earlier this year, I added a couple new styles to my collection from The Very Warm. While sleek and sophisticated on the outside, these jacket really come alive on the inside. The Very Warm has set out to combine the world of fashion and art by creating a platform to collaborate with contemporary artists. Each garment combines high quality, fashionable pieces with inspirational art from a community of artists that they have grown to love and respect. Information about the artist can be found on the hang-tag of every piece as well as on the ‘Artists’ page on their website.
This season, The Very Warm has stepped up their game—taking an iconic piece and making it even better. They’ve lightly filled the coach jacket with poly for a little bit more weight, making it a perfect piece to wear throughout the transitional season and layer up in winter (use code ‘PACMAN82’ to save 30%). The details on the jacket are just as sharp as the art—with black contrast twill tape along the shoulder and pocket rims as well as zippered side vents and two interior chest pockets.
The art on this piece is by artist Gil Goren titled “Fresh Love”. His pieces, which are often elusive yet extremely insightful, tend to reject conventional classification. Goren explains:
“The Wonder Love, Fresh Love and Special Love pieces are all explorations in color and emotion with that which is familiar and unknown. I organized things you hadn’t seen with those you had, from glimpses of Wall Street and 54th street to pinches of color and shapes that were new. Things hard and soft. Wonder and freshness all built around the beauty of New York.”
As a life-long lover of blue, it was an easy choice for me to pick up the Grant jacket in Ocean. The shade of blue is a bit lighter and brighter than your typical navy which pairs extremely well with black jeans and dark wash blue jeans. I opted for a more smart casual approach, styling it alongside a super cozy knit jumper and gray wool trousers. If you want to add a bit more color to this streamlined silhouette, I also suggest the Evergreen color. The black option will also lend itself to a sleek and simple street style combination.
Thanks to The Very Warm for sponsoring this post and providing me with the Grant Jacket. Feel free to us PACMAN82 for 30% off your order! As always, all styling is my own.
