About 6 years ago, I remember my brother coming home one day with a pair of Clarks Originals Taupe Suede Desert Boots on his feet. This was around the time when I first started caring more about my style and the way I presented myself. I fell in love those boots. Their silhouette was casual but sophisticated. They seemed to take all of his outfits to the next level. About that same time, one of my best friends also picked up a pair of the Oakwood Suede colorway. Now I was filled with jealousy and had to have a pair myself. I ran out and purchased the Brown Suede version and couldn’t be happier. To this day, I still recommend them to those looking for a stylish mid-ankle boot. For this post I’m thrilled to partner with Clarks Originals to style a pair of their iconic Desert Boots. It’s such a versatile pair of shoes that I believe has a place in any man’s wardrobe.
Clarks Originals Desert Boots are inspired by crepe-soled boots worn by British officers in World War II. They have a timeless style and are crafted from natural materials at a price point that can’t be beat. After much consideration, I chose the Dark Grey Suede colorway to style for today’s outfit. While Clarks Originals look right at home when worn with a pair of denim, I wanted to show their versatility and style it with a slightly more smart casual outfit. As you may know, I’m a huge fan of grey this time of year. It’s such a wonderful and easy color to layer. To compliment the suede, I paired it with a pair of crisp grey trousers and then slightly offset it with a black cashmere sweater. The minimal under-layers really allow the camel overcoat to standout. For accessories, I went with a grey lambswool/cashmere scarf that’s a slightly lighter shade then the trousers and boots. The color on the crepe sole of the Clarks Originals really adds that extra layer of detail to help tie the whole look together. The watch has a clean and minimal face design with a black leather strap. I also always carry a pair of shades wherever I go—still really liking the clear frames at the moment. I’m extremely pleased with how the whole look came together.
Thanks again to Clarks Originals for sponsoring this post and providing me with the Desert Boots. All styling and words are my own!
