The sun is getting stronger and the days are getting longer. Summer is right around the corner (just a couple weeks away!). This means it’s time to bare those knees, kick off your shoes, and have some fun in the sun.
Lately, I’ve been on a bit of a stripe spree. I’ve always loved horizontal striped patterns—especially in the warmer months. It’s that classic nautical look that screams summer. I’m not shy to wear stripes multiple times a week! However, this season I’ve been absolutely loving vertical stripe patterns. Well, maybe it’s not such an earth shattering change of pace for you—but for someone that barely wears any patterns, it’s a whole new way to look at the world 🙂
So let’s talk about this swimsuit! Ugh, it’s just so perfect—such a lovely wide striped pattern that can easily double as a pair of shorts for those boardwalk nights. They sit right about mid-thigh, with a 5″ inseam. Bathing suits seem to still be trending a bit on the higher side lately, so I’m on board with that.
Paired with the swim shorts is a wonderful band-collar linen popover shirt. It works so perfectly with these swim shorts—setting just the right mood for a long beach day. I’m also kicking off the sneakers and stepping into a pair of espadrilles. They have a refined but laid back vibe that looks great with a pair of patterned swim trunks.
It wouldn’t be a beach day without a beach bag that has plenty of storage compartments for your sunglasses and sunscreen. Also, if you’re spending the night, it’s important to bring an extra layer for the boardwalk and pack up your toiletries so you can feel fresh for the next day (after all, no one wants sand in their hair).
Once again, MANGO saves my summer from fashion fails. They always seem to have everything that I could possible need for a seasonal staple or new fashion trend.
